IT worked for me! Steve Pope tells how a visit to the ‘Blood Doctor’ became a life-changing moment for his health and well-being
What started off as a journalistic exercise has now become a life changing experience.
My visit to Errol Denton was with the aim of writing an article on what live blood analysis was all about.
After an hour of Errol going through my sample and pointing out the pitiful state of my blood, and therefore my health, I knew that I really needed to take the issue of food a lot more seriously.
Errol drew up a new diet plan for me that was based on the principle of eating alkaline foods like green leaf vegetables, certain nuts, fish etc, and avoiding ‘bad’ acid foods such as bread, soft drinks, and just about anything that was processed. The list of ‘don’t eats’ was so long that I really wondered whether I could stick with it. I had to drink four litres of water a day mixed in with a vegetable powder plus some omega oils which is available at most health food stores.
What I hadn’t told Errol much about during my consultation was that I suffered from terrible back pains and an arm and shoulder that caused me a great deal of discomfort. The back pain was so bad that after a short walk I had to stop because my legs would start to become numb. Six months of weekly visits to an osteopath had helped but the pain in my back, arm and shoulder remained. I had accepted it as life’s ‘luck of the draw’ and something to do with approaching 50.
It was, therefore, nothing short of a complete shock to find that the pains had more or less gone within three days of starting Errol’s programme. If anyone had told me before that back and other muscle pain were linked to what you eat, I would have given them one of my cynical looks. But it really did happen.
Had I not had such a ‘miracle cure’ it’s possible I might not have made the effort to stick to the programme. I’m naturally cynical and have traditionally fought against anything labelled ‘healthy’. I felt so much better, so quickly that the alkaline theory became life changing.
So, what were the changes? Well, I’ve mentioned the vanishing back and muscle pains. My body also felt so much more flexible. My hair felt less dry and seemed to grow thicker. So, too, did my nails. My skin looks much healthier. I lost two stone in weight and my energy levels have massively improved.
Removing sugar from my diet has also reduced my hunger pangs and I don’t feel the need to eat as much. Drinking three to four litres of water a day has taken some getting use to, but now it’s like second nature and I find I crave water if I don’t have it.
I’m not sure just how many friends and strangers I’ve bored telling them about my new diet, but it worked so brilliantly for me I feel the need to spread the word. Wish I had tried this alkaline thing years ago.
